On June 2nd, I delivered an online presentation to council, requesting allowance in the 2021-22 budget for completion and maintenance of garden beds in Victoria Road. These beds weren’t delivered a year or so ago after Streetscape Works ran over budget. Also included in the submission was a request for funding to complete remaining sections of the ‘Loch Village Lap’.

We have subsequently received advice of the outcome of our submission: “Additional funding was not included in the 2021/22 Budget at this time, as Council is able to partner with the Association within existing resources to deliver the following:

Garden Bed Maintenance

Council is pleased to further engage with the Association (LCDA) to scope improvements to the Garden beds on Victoria Road and deliver these within existing resourcein 2021/22

Loch Village Lap

Council officers will work with the Association (LCDA) to further develop the project to blueprint stage so that it may be included in Council’s Paths and Trails Strategy. This Strategy is due to be reviewed in 2022/23, and will provide further opportunities for community engagement.

Entry/Exit Space Maintenance

Highway maintenance is currently the responsibility of VicRoads. Council will partner with the Association (LCDA) to advocate for improvements on behalf of the Loch Community.
